"...eppur si muove..." - Score and Parts
Composer: Brantley
$45.00
A meditation on Galileo
for Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Bass Clarinet, Violoncello and Harp
duration: ca. 7'
Scores and parts
This includes 2 scores and 1 set of parts.
This hybrid motet/madrigal meditates not only on Galileo's legendary response to the decision of his inquisition, but also on the Apollo missions, the Beatles, the Diamond Sutra mantra, Psalm 103, as well as evocations of Apollinaire and Jung. It was premiered in a slightly different version on the Greenwich House "North River Series" in February 2009 by Daisy Press, soprano and triangle; Abigail Fischer, mezzo-soprano and cello; Carol McGonnell, bass clarinet; and the composer playing, what is now the harp part, on electric guitar.
